Have you seen The Queen’s Gambit?
If you haven’t, it’s a Netflix miniseries (based on the novel of the same name by Walter Tevis) about chess prodigy, Beth Harmon.
I read the write up and almost passed on it. Chess? Dull, dull, dull.
How wrong was I? I literally could hardly take my eyes off the screen. Such an original idea, and brilliant acting.
I know nothing about chess, so I’m going to learn. That’s how much I loved the series — it’s made me want to learn how to play chess.
And I just picked up the book. Can’t wait to start reading.
I’d love to know what you thought of it if you’ve read/watched it.
Note: The language is pretty strong at times, in case that affects your decision to watch.
